About Me
Hi, I’m Mandy — the trainer behind Skye Unlimited Canine Services.
Like many young girls, I grew up absolutely loving dogs. For a long time, I believed my path would lead me into veterinary medicine. While I have incredible respect and admiration for those who work in the veterinary field, I eventually realized that my strengths and passions were leading me in a different direction.
Everything truly changed when I got my first dog, Skye.
Skye opened the door to a world I never knew existed. Through her, I met incredible people, amazing dogs, and discovered opportunities that shaped the direction of my life. She is the dog who started it all.
Growing up, I spent most of my life playing competitive soccer at a high level until I graduated high school. After stepping away from the sport and facing some personal health challenges, Skye became a constant source of support and grounding in my life. Dogs have a way of showing up for us when we need them most, and she did exactly that for me.
A few days before my 21st birthday, I came across a husky running the streets. The plan was simple — rehabilitate her and find her a home. Well… that was three years ago, and she’s still here as my partner in crime. If you know anything about huskies, you know they definitely have a mind of their own. She challenged me in ways I had never experienced before and sparked a deeper curiosity and love for training.
A few years later, Fireheart joined my life — my first purebred dog. I brought her home with the goal of exploring conformation and various dog sports. She has continued to expand my understanding of training and working with dogs in ways I never expected. Fireheart is truly my heart dog through and through.
After her, I took on two behavioral foster dogs to challenge myself further and deepen my understanding of behavioral modification and the psychological side of training. Those experiences pushed me to grow even more as a handler and trainer.
Training has filled a space in my heart that opened when I stepped away from competitive sports. It challenges me, inspires me, and gives me purpose. The relationships I build with dogs and their owners are incredibly meaningful to me, and I feel truly honored every time someone trusts me to be part of their journey.
I love people, I love dogs, and I love a challenge. Teaching and guiding others comes naturally to me, which is why training has become such a fulfilling path.
My goal is simple: to make a difference — one dog at a time.
I’m deeply devoted to my own dogs, and they are truly at the center of my world. My family is a huge part of this journey as well. They have supported me every step of the way and are always there as extra hands when needed. My dogs absolutely adore them, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a more supportive family. They are a big part of the reason I’m able to pursue this passion and build something so meaningful.
Being able to give that same level of devotion and care to my client dogs and their owners is incredibly important to me. When you become a client here, you truly become part of my pack. I’m here to support you through the highs, the challenges, and everything in between.
Thank you for being here and for following along on this journey.

Meet My Pack 〰️
The one who started it all. I named my company after Skye because she is the reason I have everything I do today. She led me to the people who changed my life and ultimately brought me into the dog industry. Now enjoying her retirement, Skye has taken on her favorite role—being the “mom” of the group. She has a special gift for teaching puppies how to navigate life, always with a gentle presence and the fierce loyalty you’d expect from a true Shepherd. She is my foundation, my heart, and she is completely irreplaceable.
Cloud was my first rescue, and she’s the reason I fell in love with making a difference in the rescue world. She’s what inspired me to start fostering and rehabilitating dogs who were never given a fair chance. She was abandoned—chained to a tree in a backyard—until she became thin enough to slip free and jump the wall. That’s where our story began. I found her running the streets just three days before my 21st birthday. From the very beginning, she and Skye were inseparable. They share a bond that’s truly special. Cloud clung to me, and we formed a deep connection almost instantly. She’s not your typical husky—she lives to please me. She’s enthusiastic in every way, just as huskies should be, always happy, always ready to play, and everyone’s favorite dog to chase around. Cloud is my go-to temperament test dog. She’s incredibly stable and naturally welcomed by other dogs because of her gentle, respectful approach. She has come so far, and she’s the one who truly sparked my passion for training—my very first real training dog.
Fireheart is my first purebred, well-bred dog. I brought her into my life with the goal of exploring different dog sports, especially since I missed my competitive soccer days. As a trainer, I believe you can never stop learning, and she’s pushed me into new areas I wasn’t as familiar with. Our journey together has been nothing short of incredible. I’ve never experienced a bond as deep as the one I have with her—she truly is my heart and soul. We are currently training in bitework, scent work, obedience, conformation, and herding. She excels in everything we do, and getting to learn and grow alongside her is an absolute honor.
I took Goose in from a neglectful situation where he was facing euthanasia due to behavioral issues that, in my opinion, were human-created. He was a true Poodle in every sense—a natural hunting dog with incredible drive and instinct. Goose taught me so much about the psychology of dog training and how to approach challenges from different angles in order to truly problem-solve. He became an incredible part of my pack, and we absolutely loved having him. Goose was training in Rally and Scent Work, and was actively competing in FastCAT. We recently lost him far too young, and I didn’t get nearly enough time with him—but the year I did have changed my life forever. I am so deeply honored that I got to be his person.
I took Birdie in a couple of years ago from a situation where she simply wasn’t the right fit anymore—through no fault of her own. Birdie is a special girl. She has some behavioral tendencies common in Bulldogs, but they’re easily managed and don’t define her. In fact, she’s my lowest-maintenance dog and is always ready to have a good time. She’s also my most well-behaved dog and has grown into an incredible demo dog. We absolutely love having her as part of the pack. Birdie is currently training in bitework and obedience.
